The Aberdeen Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Court is situated on Castle Street in central Aberdeen. It is one of three court buildings in the city, the other two being Aberdeen Civil Justice Centre and Commercial Court Building (hears civil and commercial cases) and Aberdeen Sheriff Court Annex and High Court of Justiciary.
The building was completed and 1874. This large grade "A" listed court building deals with summary and solemn criminal business. Moreover, it handles all administrative matters for the three Aberdonian court houses.
